Lakehills is a community in Bandera County, Texas, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP) because the government counts its population separately. In 2020, about 5,295 people lived here, making it the largest community in Bandera County. Lakehills is also part of the bigger San Antonio area.

History of Lakehills
Lakehills was once known as Upper Medina Lake. This name changed in the early 1960s when a post office opened in the area. Before the 1950s, people used two special roads to get around. These roads were called toll roads, meaning you had to pay a small fee to use them.
Geography and Location
Lakehills is located in a beautiful part of Texas. It is about 12 miles (19 km) southeast of a town called Bandera. It is also about 30 miles (48 km) west of Downtown San Antonio. A big part of the town is right on Medina Lake.
The community covers a total area of about 34.4 square miles (89.0 km2). Most of this area, about 30.3 square miles (78.5 km2), is land. The rest, about 4.1 square miles (10.6 km2), is water, mostly from Medina Lake.
