Early Life and Learning
Lamar Batista was born in Waco, Texas, on March 7, 1998. When he was three years old, he was adopted and grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Before becoming a professional, Lamar played college soccer for one year. He played for the UC Santa Barbara team in 2016.
Soccer Career
Lamar Batista started his professional soccer journey in March 2017. He signed with Portland Timbers 2, a team in the United Soccer League.
In February 2019, Lamar joined Los Angeles FC, a team in Major League Soccer (MLS). MLS is the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. During 2019, he spent most of his time playing on loan. This means he temporarily played for other teams to get more game experience. He played for Phoenix Rising FC in the USL Championship and FC Tucson in USL League One. USL League One is another professional soccer league, a step below the USL Championship.
After playing one season with North Texas SC, Lamar moved to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the USL Championship for the 2021 season. Later that year, in August 2021, he went on loan again to OKC Energy FC for the rest of the season.
On January 31, 2022, Lamar signed with Rochester New York FC. This team was new and played in MLS Next Pro, which is a league for younger players and those developing their skills, often linked to MLS teams.
