Lamar DeShawn Batista (born March 7, 1998) is an American soccer player. He plays as a defender for FC Tulsa in the USL Championship.

Lamar Batista: A Soccer Journey
Early Life and College Soccer
Lamar Batista was born in Waco, Texas, on March 7, 1998. He was adopted when he was three years old. He grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Before becoming a professional, Lamar played college soccer. He spent one season with the UC Santa Barbara team in 2016.
Starting His Professional Career
Lamar began his professional soccer journey in March 2017. He signed with Portland Timbers 2, a team in the United Soccer League (USL). The USL is a professional soccer league in the United States.
In February 2019, Lamar joined Los Angeles FC, a team in Major League Soccer (MLS). MLS is the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. During 2019, he also played on loan for other teams. He played for Phoenix Rising FC in the USL Championship and FC Tucson in USL League One. Playing on loan means he temporarily played for another team to get more game experience.
Moving Through the Leagues
After playing for North Texas SC in 2020, Lamar moved to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC for the 2021 season. Both teams are part of the USL Championship. Later in 2021, he went on loan again to OKC Energy FC for the rest of that season.
In January 2022, Lamar signed with Rochester New York FC. This team was new to the MLS Next Pro league. He played for them during their first season.
Lamar then joined San Antonio FC in 2023. He played a full season with them. In 2024, he moved to North Carolina FC.
