Lame Deer (which is Meaveʼhoʼeno in the Cheyenne language) is a special kind of community in Rosebud County, Montana, United States. It's called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the government counts as a town for population numbers, even if it's not officially a city.

The community gets its name from a brave Miniconjou Lakota chief named Lame Deer. He was a leader who lived in the 1800s. Lame Deer was also a trading post back in the late 1870s.

Today, Lame Deer is very important to the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. It's where the main offices for the tribe and government agencies are located. You can also find the Chief Dull Knife College here. Every year, the community hosts the exciting Northern Cheyenne Powwow.
