Lamont J. Robinson Jr. was born on February 21, 1982. He is an American politician from Chicago, Illinois. He has worked as an insurance agent and also as an educator.
Currently, Lamont Robinson is an alderman for the 4th ward in the Chicago City Council. He won this position in the 2023 election. The 4th ward covers parts of neighborhoods like Douglas, Kenwood, and the Near South Side in Chicago.
Before becoming an alderman, he served as a state representative. From 2019 to 2023, he represented the 5th district in the Illinois House of Representatives. This district included areas of Chicago such as the Near North Side, Chicago Loop, and Near South Side.

The previous alderman, Sophia King, decided not to run again. She chose to run for mayor instead. Lamont Robinson ran against several other candidates. He won the election after a second round of voting, called a runoff election. In the runoff, he defeated Prentice Butler.
