Landry Bonnefoi (born 20 September 1983) is a retired French football player. He played as a goalkeeper. After he stopped playing, he became a goalkeeping coach. He now works for the Luxembourgish team Union Titus Petange.

Bonnefoi's Football Journey

Landry Bonnefoi was born in Villeparisis, France. He started his football career at a young age. He played for youth teams like ES Saint-Pathus Oissery and ES Saint-Soupplets. Later, he joined the youth team of AS Cannes.

Playing for Juventus and Loans

In 2001, Landry Bonnefoi moved to Italy. He was signed by the famous club Juventus. For two seasons, he played with the Juventus youth team. He then became a reserve goalkeeper for the main team. This meant he was a backup to star players like Gianluigi Buffon. However, he did not play in any official games for Juventus.

To get more playing time, he was sent on loan. A loan means a player temporarily plays for another team.

  • During the 2003–04 season, he played for Messina. He only played one game for this team.
  • In 2006, he was loaned to Ligue 2 team Metz in France. He wanted to play more and felt a bit homesick. Metz had the option to buy him permanently.

Playing for French Clubs

After his time at Juventus and on loan, Bonnefoi played for several French clubs.

  • In 2007, he joined Dijon.
  • From 2009 to 2012, he played for Amiens. He played many games for them.
  • On 31 July 2012, he signed with Bastia. This was after his previous club was moved to a lower division.
  • He also played for Châteauroux from 2013 to 2016.
  • In 2016, he joined Strasbourg. He was released by them in 2017 but then re-signed for another year.

Later Career and Retirement

For the 2018–19 season, Landry Bonnefoi moved to Luxembourg. He signed with F91 Dudelange. While there, he even played in the UEFA Europa League. This is a big European club competition.

At the end of the 2018–19 season, Landry Bonnefoi decided to retire from professional football. He stopped playing as a goalkeeper.

Becoming a Coach

Since March 2020, Landry Bonnefoi has been working as a goalkeeping coach. He helps train other goalkeepers. He works for the team Union Titus Petange in Luxembourg.
