History of Landstad
How Landstad Got Its Name
The community of Landstad has an interesting history. Its post office was first opened in June 1882. The very first postmaster was a person named Sven G. Morgan. He was in charge of the mail for the area.
It is thought that Landstad was named after a famous person. This person was Magnus Brostrup Landstad. He was a very popular poet and writer of hymns during that time. Hymns are special songs often sung in churches.
