Langdon is a small, unincorporated community located in Atchison County, Missouri, in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

Langdon is found about six miles southwest of a town called Rock Port. While it once had its own post office, that office is now closed. Mail for Langdon residents is delivered through the nearby community of Fairfax.

History of Langdon

Langdon was officially started, or "laid out," in the year 1880. The community was named after a man named John Langdon. He was an important official who worked for the railroad company at that time.

A post office was also opened in Langdon in 1880, the same year the community began. This post office served the people of Langdon for many years, staying open until 1979.
