The Story of Laoshan Cola
How Laoshan Cola Started
Laoshan Cola began its journey in 1953. It quickly became a favorite drink among many people in China. It was known as one of the top cola brands in the country.
A Big Change in the 1990s
In the 1990s, something big happened. The famous Coca-Cola Company bought Laoshan Cola. After buying it, Coca-Cola decided to stop making Laoshan Cola in 1997. This meant the drink disappeared from stores for a few years.
The Return of Laoshan Cola
But the story didn't end there! In March 2004, another company, Qingdao Laoshan Mineral Water Company, bought the brand. They wanted to bring Laoshan Cola back. They invested in new machines from other countries to start making the drink again.
Laoshan Cola was officially re-introduced in 2008. However, it was a tough market. Big brands like Coca-Cola and Pepsi were very popular. Even though Laoshan Cola made a comeback, it never became as widely known or as popular as it was before.
