Larissa Takchi was born in Sydney, Australia. Her family came from Lebanon. Her grandparents moved to Australia and started a farm. They grew fruits like peaches and plums. Larissa's mom owned a cafe. Before she won MasterChef, Larissa helped manage her mom's cafe.
Larissa went to Hillside Public School. After that, she studied at Mount St Benedict College. She also went to Macquarie University. There, she studied business.
Winning MasterChef Australia
In 2019, Larissa Takchi joined MasterChef Australia. She was one of the 'Top 24' contestants. On July 23, 2019, Larissa was announced as the winner!
She won a big cash prize of $250,000. She also received a new car and a special job. For 12 months, she wrote a monthly cooking column for Delicious magazine. Her winning dish was a dessert called "Szechuan Pavlova." It had beetroot and blackberry sorbet, Sichuan pepper, and lemon cream.
