Larry Dwight Hall is an important government official from North Carolina. He worked for many years in the North Carolina House of Representatives. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors. Later, he earned a law degree (J.D.) from the School of Law at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Military Service

After college, Larry Hall became an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He served for 16 years in the Marines and Marine Corps Reserves. He helped with operations in the Middle East, including in Lebanon and Iran.

He received several awards for his service. These include the Navy Achievement Medal and the Marine Corps Reserve Medal. He held many different roles in the Marines. He was a Rifle Platoon Commander and a Staff Judge Advocate. He also helped Marines who were leaving active duty. He connected them with jobs, homes, and education for their families.

Community Involvement

Larry Hall is very active in his community. He has been a leader in the Durham Branch of the NAACP. This group works for equal rights. He also served as Secretary and Chairman of the Durham Business and Professional Chain. He was on the Board of Directors for the Durham Chamber of Commerce.

He also helped lead the Young Marines Program. This program teaches young people about leadership and discipline. He taught youth about the customs and traditions of the Marine Corps.

Awards and Recognition

Larry Hall has received many awards for his work in North Carolina. The NAACP gave him the President's Award. He also received the Equality in Legislation Leadership Award. He was honored as a Champion of NC Working Families. He was also called a 100% Environmental Champion.
