Larry O'Bannon (born August 15, 1983) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for Hispano Americano in the Liga Nacional de Básquet (LNB) league. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for the University of Louisville.

Larry O'Bannon's Early Life

Larry O'Bannon grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. He went to Jefferson County Traditional Middle School. For high school, he attended Male High School.

High School Sports

At Male High School, Larry was a talented athlete. He played both basketball and competed in track and field. He even played basketball with Michael Bush, who later became a running back for the Oakland Raiders. They were teammates in middle school too!

College Basketball Career

Larry O'Bannon played college basketball for the University of Louisville's Louisville Cardinals. He was a key player during his time there.

Reaching the Final Four

In 2005, Larry and his team, the Louisville Cardinals, had an amazing season. They made it all the way to the NCAA Final Four tournament. This is a huge achievement in college basketball! Larry was even named the Regional MVP during that tournament.

Professional Basketball Journey

After college, Larry O'Bannon started his professional basketball career. He was not chosen in the 2005 NBA draft, but he still got a chance to play.

Early Professional Teams

In the summer of 2005, Larry played for the Seattle SuperSonics and the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Summer League. This is where new players try to show off their skills. In August 2005, he signed his first professional contract with a Serbian team called Crvena zvezda. He played there for one season and helped them win the Serbian Cup.

Larry then played for several teams in different countries. In 2007, he joined Amatori Udine in Italy. Later that year, he moved to Basket Napoli.

Playing Around the World

Larry continued his journey in professional basketball. In July 2007, he played for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Summer League. For the 2007–08 season, he started with AGO Rethymno in Greece. After seven games, he moved to the Bulgarian team Lukoil Academic in December 2007.

In January 2009, Larry signed with Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel. He played there for a year and then re-signed for another season.

More International Teams

Larry's career took him to Venezuela in May 2010, where he played for Marinos de Anzoátegui. In September 2010, he returned to Israel to play for Maccabi Haifa.

In February 2011, Larry joined Boca Juniors in Argentina. He played with them for the 2011–12 season. In April 2012, he briefly played for Club Atlético Lanús.

Later Career Highlights

In July 2012, Larry signed with SAV Vacallo Basket in Switzerland. He then moved back to Israel in February 2013 to play for Hapoel Eilat.

Larry also played in France for Sharks Antibes in August 2013. In January 2014, he joined the Russian team Krasnye Krylia.

He returned to Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel in September 2014. Later that year, in November 2014, he moved to another Israeli team, Hapoel Tel Aviv. In his first game for Hapoel, he scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, which is a fantastic performance!

In August 2015, Larry signed with San Martín de Corrientes in Argentina. Since November 2016, he has been playing for Hispano Americano, also in Argentina.
