Lars Göran Ingemar Norén (born April 9, 1944 – died January 26, 2021) was a famous Swedish writer. He wrote many plays, novels, and poems. His plays were known for being very realistic. They often explored family life and how people relate to each other. He wrote about all kinds of people, from those facing tough times to those who had a lot of money but felt lonely inside.

Lars Norén's Writing Journey
Lars Norén started his writing career with poetry. His first book of poems, called Syrener, snö (which means "Lilac, snow"), came out in 1963. In the late 1960s, he also wrote for Puss, a magazine that used humor to comment on society.
A Play That Sparked Discussion
One of Norén's plays, called 7:3, became very well-known and caused a lot of talk. This happened after a serious event in 1999. Some people who were in prison had been allowed to leave temporarily to act in Norén's play. Later, these same people were involved in a serious crime. This led to a big discussion about the play and the rules for prisoners.
Directing and Radio Appearances
Lars Norén was also a director at Folkteatern, a theater in Gothenburg, from 2009 to 2011. He also appeared on a popular Swedish radio show called "Sommar" on P1 in 2005, where he shared his thoughts and stories.

Lars Norén received several important awards for his writing. In 1971, he won a literary prize from a newspaper called Aftonbladet. Later, in 2003, he won the Swedish Academy Nordic Prize. This award is sometimes called the 'little Nobel Prize' because it's so important in the Nordic countries.

Passing Away
Lars Norén passed away on January 26, 2021, when he was 76 years old. He died after becoming sick with COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden.
