Discovering Las Cumbres
Las Cumbres was first developed in the 1950s by a businessman named Louis Martinz. It was planned as a rural community. The area is quite high up, about 1,050 feet (320 meters) above sea level. This higher altitude means Las Cumbres often has cooler, more pleasant weather than lower areas.
A Growing Community
Over the years, Las Cumbres became home to many middle-class families. It attracted important people from Panamanian society. These included scientists, doctors, engineers, business owners, and even politicians. The community has grown and changed a lot since it was first built.
Neighborhoods and Features
Las Cumbres has several different neighborhoods within it. Some of these include Villa Campestre, El Lago, Las Cumbrecitas, and San Andrés. Other neighborhoods are Altavista, El Rocio, Las Lajas, Gonzalillo, Villa Grecia, and Colonial Las Cumbres.
To make the area even better, two lakes were built. These lakes were used for fun activities like recreation. They also helped supply water to the community. Even with all the changes, Las Cumbres still keeps much of its original charm and attractions.
