Latarsha Rose is an American actress. She acts in both movies and TV shows. She is most famous for playing Portia in the 2012 movie The Hunger Games.
Early Life and Training
Latarsha Rose grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She went to Georgetown University. While at the university, she acted in many theater plays. Later, she was chosen to be on a TV show called The It Factor on Bravo TV. This show followed her and eleven other people. They were all trying to become successful in the entertainment world.
Acting Career
Latarsha Rose has appeared in many popular TV shows. These include Law & Order, CSI: NY, Bones, and CSI: Miami. She also had regular roles in shows like Windfall and Swingtown.
In 2012, Latarsha Rose got a big role in The Hunger Games. She played Portia, who was Peeta's stylist from the Capitol. A stylist helps characters look their best. This movie role made her much more well-known.
Rose also starred in the BET TV series Being Mary Jane. In this show, she played Dr. Lisa Hudson. Dr. Lisa Hudson was the best friend of the main character, Mary Jane.
When she was first cast in The Hunger Games, The Hollywood Reporter magazine called her a "relative unknown" in May 2011. This meant she wasn't very famous yet. In 2002, Time Magazine wrote about actors. They used Latarsha Rose's dimples as an example. They showed how some actors might get roles because of how they look.
