Latty, Missouri facts for kids
Latty is a small place in Washington County, Missouri. It's called an "unincorporated community," which means it's a group of homes and buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Latty is located about 4.5 miles northwest of a larger town called Potosi, right along Missouri Route 185.
A Look at Latty's Past
Latty got its start a long time ago. In 1894, a post office was opened there, which was important for people to send and receive mail. This post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1919. The name "Latty" comes from a woman named Latty Higginbotham, who lived in the area.
