Lau Nai-keung (Chinese: 劉迺強; pinyin: Liú Nǎiqiáng, 1947 – 21 November 2018) was an important person from Hong Kong. He was a scholar, a businessman, and a politician. He worked in many different roles for the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He also held positions at various universities and companies.

Lau believed that Hong Kong and mainland China should work more closely together. He thought this would help both places grow stronger. He wrote many articles about these ideas for newspapers like the South China Morning Post.

He was the chairman of Long View Cultural Services Limited. He was also a research fellow at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He served on important groups like the Hong Kong Basic Law Consultative Committee. This committee helped create Hong Kong's mini-constitution. He was also a visiting professor at Jinan University.

About Lau Nai-keung

Lau Nai-keung was born in 1947. He studied Economics at the University of Hong Kong. He earned his Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in 1970. After graduating, he worked as a tutor at the university. He also worked as an economist for the Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation.

His Public Service

Lau was a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. This is a key advisory body in China. He served there from 1987 to 2007. During this time, he was part of the Committee on Population, Resources and Environment Studies. He held many other important jobs in the Hong Kong government too.

Lau Nai-keung passed away on November 21, 2018. He was recognized for his service with the Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS). This is a high honor given by the Hong Kong government.
