Laughing Whitefish Falls State Park is a cool public park in Michigan. It protects about 960 acres of land. The park is located along the Laughing Whitefish River. It's in Alger County, which is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
The most exciting part of the park is Laughing Whitefish Falls. This amazing waterfall is 100 feet tall! It has a special fan shape. You can find the falls in the southern part of the park. It's about eight miles south of Lake Superior. It's also three miles north of M-94.

Discovering Laughing Whitefish Falls
Laughing Whitefish Falls is a very unique waterfall. It's created by the Laughing Whitefish River. This river flows north towards Lake Superior. The water tumbles over a steep limestone cliff. This cliff is shaped in a way that spreads the water out. This makes the waterfall look like a giant fan. It's a really cool sight to see!
Finding the Falls
The waterfall is located inside the Escanaba River State Forest. It's about three-quarters of a mile east of County Route 327. This road is also known as North Sundell Road. You can reach the falls by taking a half-mile hike. The trail goes through a beautiful forest with beech and maple trees.

There are also other foot trails in the park. These trails connect the falls to the North Country Trail. The North Country Trail is a very long hiking path. It runs through the northern part of Laughing Whitefish Falls State Park. This means you can explore even more of the area!
