Laura Borden, Lady Borden (born Laura Bond; November 26, 1861 – September 7, 1940) was an important Canadian figure. She was the wife of Sir Robert Laird Borden. Sir Robert was the eighth Prime Minister of Canada.
Laura Borden was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She married Robert Borden in September 1889. She was known for being friendly and graceful.
Life and Contributions
Laura Borden was active in her community. She served as the president of the Local Council of Women of Halifax. This group worked to improve the lives of women and children. She led the council until she stepped down in 1901.
