Laura Morante is a famous Italian actress who has appeared in many movies in both Italy and France. She is also known as the voice of Elastigirl in the Italian version of the Disney/Pixar movie The Incredibles.

From Dancer to Movie Star
Laura Morante was born on August 21, 1956, in Santa Fiora, a town in the Tuscany region of Italy. Her uncle was the famous novelist Elsa Morante.
Before she became an actress, Laura was a dancer. She started her acting career on stage when she was 18 years old. She joined a theater group led by director Carmelo Bene. Soon after, she began acting in movies. Her first film was Oggetti smarriti (Lost Belongings).
Her big break came when director Nanni Moretti cast her in the main role of his movie Sweet Body of Bianca. This role made her a well-known actress in Italy.
Success in Europe
After marrying a French actor, Laura moved to Paris, France. There, she acted in many different movies, which made her famous throughout Europe.
When she returned to Italy, she continued to have great success. In 2001, she won the David di Donatello award, which is like the Italian Oscar, for Best Actress. She won for her role in the movie The Son's Room. She also won a Silver Ribbon award for Best Actress for the movie Love Is Eternal While It Lasts.
In 2007, she starred in the French movie Molière, where she played the woman that the famous writer Molière falls in love with.
Directing and Voice Acting
Besides acting, Laura Morante has also worked as a director. In 2012, she directed her first movie, Cherry on the Cake. She was nominated for an award for Best New Director for this film.
Many people also know her voice. She was the voice of Helen Parr, also known as Elastigirl, in the Italian version of the popular animated movie The Incredibles.
