Laura White (born May 28, 1995) is an actress from England. She is known for her roles on stage and television. Laura played Sandra Wilkinson in the play The Play That Goes Wrong. She also appeared in the BBC show Doctors as Princess Buchanan from 2022 to 2023. For this role, she was nominated for the British Soap Award for Villain of the Year two times. From 2023 to 2024, Laura also starred in a play called Murder in the Dark.
Early Life
Laura White was born on May 28, 1995. Her mother is Jamaican and her father is English. She has two sisters, including Cat White. Laura grew up in Northampton. She also spent time in Wales and Yorkshire, where her parents' families came from. From 2014 to 2017, Laura studied musical theatre at the Guildford School of Acting.
Career Highlights
Laura White started her acting career in short films and commercials. She also made her first stage appearance in The Play That Goes Wrong. After finishing drama school, Laura helped start the Page One Project. This program helps people from different backgrounds get into the arts.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Laura starred in a special show called C-o-n-t-a-c-t in London. Critics praised her acting, calling her "sweet and engaging." Later in 2020, she went on tour again with The Play That Goes Wrong until 2021.
In 2021, Laura was in the film The Colour Room. She was very proud to be part of this movie. It told the story of artist Clarice Cliff. That same year, she appeared in a pilot for a Channel 4 sitcom called Big Age. She also starred in Home Girl at Derby Theatre.
In 2022, Laura appeared in the BBC comedy series Lazy Susan. That year, she also joined the BBC soap opera Doctors. She played Princess Buchanan, a trainee doctor. For this role, she was nominated for the British Soap Award for Villain of the Year in 2022. Laura left Doctors in January 2023. She thanked the show for an "amazing" time on Instagram. In 2023, she was nominated for the Villain of the Year award again. Also in 2023, Laura appeared in the BBC crime show Silent Witness as Aysha. She then joined the touring play Murder in the Dark.
