Lauren Cohan is an American actress born on January 7, 1982. She is most famous for playing Maggie Rhee in the scary TV series The Walking Dead. This show is about a world after a big disaster. She also plays Maggie in the spin-off show The Walking Dead: Dead City.
Lauren has also been in other popular TV shows. She played Bela Talbot in Supernatural and Rose in The Vampire Diaries. She was also Vivian McArthur Volkoff in Chuck and Francesca "Frankie" Trowbridge in Whiskey Cavalier. In movies, she has appeared in The Boy, All Eyez on Me, and Mile 22.

Her Early Life
Lauren Cohan was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in the United States. Her father was American, and her mother was Scottish. When Lauren was 13, her family moved to the United Kingdom, where her mother was from. They settled in a place called Surrey. Before moving to the UK, Lauren also lived for a year in Georgia.
Lauren's last name was changed to Cohan, which is her stepfather's name. Her mother also became Jewish when she remarried. Lauren Cohan became Jewish when she was five years old and had a special ceremony called a Bat Mitzvah. Lauren is the only child of her parents. However, she has many younger half-siblings from her parents' new marriages. Her younger brother, Daniel Cohan, is a chef.
Lauren went to King Alfred's College in Winchester, which is now the University of Winchester. She earned a degree in drama and English literature. After college, she traveled with a theater group that she helped start.

Movies She's Been In
Lauren's first movie role was in Casanova in 2005. She played Sister Beatrice. In 2006, she starred as Charlotte Higginson in Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj, which was a sequel to another movie. She also appeared in the 2008 film Float.
In 2010, Lauren was cast in Death Race 2. She then played the main character in the scary movie The Boy in 2016. That same year, she played Martha Wayne, who is Batman's mother, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In 2017, she played Leila Steinberg in the movie All Eyez on Me, which was based on a true story.

In 2007, Lauren got a big role in the TV show Supernatural. She played Bela Talbot, a thief who stole special objects. She appeared in six episodes of the show.

After the eighth season, there was a discussion about Lauren's pay for the show. She wanted her salary to be closer to what her male co-stars were earning. Because of this, she appeared in fewer episodes in the ninth season and left the show in 2018.

In October 2019, it was announced that Lauren would return to The Walking Dead for its eleventh and final season. After The Walking Dead ended, Lauren starred in a new spin-off show called The Walking Dead: Dead City with Jeffrey Dean Morgan. They both also helped produce the show.
