Jeffrey Dean Morgan (born April 22, 1966) is an American actor. He is famous for playing many different characters on TV and in movies.
You might know him best as Negan Smith from the scary drama series The Walking Dead. He also played John Winchester in the fantasy horror show Supernatural. Another well-known role was Denny Duquette in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy.
In movies, he played the Comedian in the superhero film Watchmen. He also appeared in action movies like Rampage.

Early life and start in acting
Jeffrey Dean Morgan was born in Seattle, Washington, on April 22, 1966. He grew up in Kirkland, Washington. As a kid, he went to Ben Franklin Elementary School and Rose Hill Junior High.
He finished high school at Lake Washington High School in 1984. For a short time, he went to Skagit Valley College. He hoped to become a professional basketball player. But a leg injury stopped him from playing.
After that, he explored other interests like painting and writing. He helped a friend move from Seattle to Los Angeles. He only planned to stay for a weekend. But he loved it there and decided to live in Los Angeles permanently. This is where he started his acting career. He once said, "I fell into acting, found out I had a little talent and pursued it."

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been acting since 1991. He has been in over 25 movies. But he is most known for his many roles on television.
Early TV roles
In 1996 and 1997, he was a main character in the TV series The Burning Zone. He appeared in eleven episodes of the show.
Around 2005 and 2006, he was very busy. He was in three TV shows at the same time!

In 2009, Jeffrey Dean Morgan played the Comedian in the superhero movie Watchmen. This film was based on a famous graphic novel.
That same year, he was in Taking Woodstock. He also played Clay in another comic book movie, The Losers.
In 2011, he starred in the thriller The Resident. The next year, he was in the horror-thriller The Possession. He also had a supporting role in the war film Red Dawn. In 2018, he was in the action movie Rampage with Dwayne Johnson.
Later TV success
In 2015, Jeffrey Dean Morgan joined the cast of The Good Wife. He played Jason Crouse, a freelance investigator.
Later in 2016, he started his most famous role. He became Negan Smith on the TV series The Walking Dead. He first appeared in the sixth season finale. Negan was the main bad guy for two seasons. Later, he became more of an anti-hero. Jeffrey Dean Morgan even voiced Negan for the fighting video game Tekken 7.
In 2019, he returned to Supernatural for its 300th episode. He played John Winchester again. In 2022, he was cast in the superhero series The Boys. He plays Joe Kessler, a main character in the fourth season. He also continues to play Negan in the spin-off series The Walking Dead: Dead City.
Personal life
Jeffrey Dean Morgan was married to actress Anya Longwell from 1992 to 2003.
In 2009, he started dating actress Hilarie Burton. They were set up on a blind date by his Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles and his wife, Danneel. Hilarie and Danneel had worked together on One Tree Hill.
Jeffrey and Hilarie have two children. Their son was born in 2010, and their daughter was born in 2018. They got married on October 5, 2019.
The family lives on a 100-acre farm in Rhinebeck, New York. They have many animals, including cows, ducks, chickens, alpacas, donkeys, and an emu.
In 2014, Jeffrey and Hilarie became co-owners of a candy store called Samuel's Sweet Shop. They bought it with their friend, actor Paul Rudd. They saved the store from closing after its previous owner, who was their friend, passed away.
