Lauren Hunter MacMullan (born April 30, 1964) is an American animation director. She helps create animated movies and TV shows. She grew up in Pennsylvania and went to Harvard University.

Early Career in Animation

Lauren MacMullan started her TV career working on The Critic. She directed episodes, including one with famous movie critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert. After that, she directed for the show King of the Hill.

She then became the main director and designer for the TV series Mission Hill. Later, she joined the team for The Simpsons, directing episodes for three seasons.

Working on Popular Shows

Lauren also directed several episodes of the popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. For her amazing work on storyboarding for Avatar, she won an Annie Award. This award celebrates excellence in animation.

Directing at Disney and Pixar

MacMullan was a sequence director for The Simpsons Movie. This means she was in charge of specific parts of the film. In 2009, she worked with Pixar, a famous animation studio, on a film called Newt, but the movie was later cancelled.
