Laurie Mitchell was born as Mickey Koren in Manhattan, New York, on July 14, 1928. Her parents were Samuel and Adele Koren. She started her career very young as a child model in The Bronx. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Los Angeles, which is a big city in California.
Acting Career Highlights
Laurie Mitchell began her acting journey in 1954. Her first movie role was in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. In the same year, she also appeared on television for the first time in a show called Ford Television Theatre.
Becoming the Queen of Outer Space
Mitchell gained a lot of attention for her role in the 1958 science-fiction film Queen of Outer Space. In this movie, she played Queen Yllana, a powerful ruler from the planet Venus. She starred alongside the famous actress Zsa Zsa Gabor.
