The Story of Lava Cola
Lava Cola started in 2009. An Australian man named James Armitage had an idea. He created a special syrup from a plant called kava. This syrup was mixed with water.
James then talked to Vanuatu Beverage Ltd. He suggested adding his kava syrup to cola. They agreed, and the idea became a reality! About 15 milliliters of the kava syrup are added to each 330 milliliter bottle of cola.
The drink is made in a factory. This factory is located near Port Vila. Port Vila is the capital city of Vanuatu. Lava Cola first began to be made for people in Vanuatu in October 2009.
What's Inside Lava Cola?
Lava Cola contains something called a kavalactone additive. This comes from the kava plant. Kava is very important in the culture of many western Pacific nations. People there have traditionally used kava for a long time.
