A Look at LeFlore's Past
LeFlore was once a busy little hub! It had three general stores where people could buy almost anything they needed. There was also a hotel, which was important for travelers.
Cotton and Trains
A big part of LeFlore's history involved cotton. The community had a cotton gin, which was a machine that separated cotton fibers from their seeds. This was a vital process for farmers in the area.
LeFlore was also located along the Illinois Central Railroad. Trains were a major way to transport goods and people back then. This railway connection helped the community grow.
