The Le Bras river, also known as "The Arm River," is a small river in Quebec, Canada. It flows through two areas: La Pocatière and Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies. These areas are part of the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Chaudière-Appalaches regions.
Le Bras river is a branch of the Ferrée River. The Ferrée River then flows into the mighty St. Lawrence River. The spot where Le Bras joins the Ferrée River is near a small village called Village-des-Aulnaies. This village is located between La Pocatière and Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies.

Where the Le Bras River Starts and Flows
The Le Bras river begins at Bourgelas Lake in La Pocatière. This lake is about 0.8 kilometers long and sits at an elevation of 197 meters. It's surrounded by forests and farms.
Bourgelas Lake is located:
- About 6 kilometers southeast of the St. Lawrence River.
- About 7.1 kilometers southwest of Saint-Onésime-d'Ixworth village.
- About 5.3 kilometers south of La Pocatière village.
- About 12.2 kilometers east of Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies village.
The river flows for about 14.6 kilometers through forests and farmlands.
The River's Journey
The Le Bras river's journey can be divided into several parts:
- It flows about 2 kilometers southwest through a forest in La Pocatière. Along the way, it passes through a small lake called Lac Perdu.
- It continues southwest for about 1 kilometer through a forest, reaching the border of Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies.
- Inside Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, it flows about 4.2 kilometers southwest through a forest. Here, it collects water from a stream called Martin.
- It then flows about 4 kilometers southwest, crossing an area known as Haute-Ville, and then turns north.
- Next, it flows about 2.9 kilometers northwest, following Route du Moulin, through farmlands, until it reaches Highway 20.
- Finally, it flows about 0.5 kilometers northwest to where it meets the Ferrée River.
Where the River Ends
The Le Bras river joins the Ferrée River on its east bank. This meeting point is just south of the Route 132 bridge in Village-des-Aulnaies. This spot is about 2.9 kilometers east of Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies and 4.6 kilometers north of Sainte-Louise.
River Name History
The name "Le Bras" was officially recognized on December 5, 1968. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which is like a special committee that names places in Quebec.
