Leandro Damián Marcelo Grimi is a former professional football player from Argentina. He was born on February 9, 1985. He played as a left-back, which is a type of defender in football.

Leandro Grimi's Football Journey
Starting in Argentina
Leandro Grimi was born in San Lorenzo, Santa Fe, Argentina. He began his football career playing for clubs in his home country. He played for Club Atlético Huracán and Racing Club de Avellaneda. With Racing Club, he played in 11 matches in Argentina's top league, the Argentine Primera División.
Moving to Europe: AC Milan
In January 2007, when Grimi was 22 years old, he moved to Italy. He joined the famous Italian club AC Milan. His first official game for Milan was in the Coppa Italia (Italy's main cup competition). He helped his team win 2–0 against A.C. Arezzo.
Later, on April 18, 2007, he played his first game in Serie A, which is Italy's highest football league. He came on for the last 12 minutes of a big 5–2 win. For part of the 2007–08 season, Grimi played on loan for another Italian team, ACR Siena 1904.
Time with Sporting CP
In January 2008, Grimi moved to Portugal. He joined Sporting CP on a loan deal. In his first year with Sporting, he played 20 official games. His team finished second in the league. They also won the Taça de Portugal, which is Portugal's main cup. Grimi played the entire final match, which Sporting won 2–0 in extra time.
On July 13, 2008, Sporting CP bought Grimi permanently from AC Milan. He signed a five-year contract with the Portuguese club. He scored his only goal in the Portuguese top league on March 14, 2010. This goal helped Sporting win 3–1 at home.
After a new player joined the team in 2010, Grimi played less often. In 2011, he was loaned to K.R.C. Genk in Belgium.
Later Career and Retirement
After leaving Sporting CP in June 2013, Grimi returned to Argentina. He played for several more clubs in his home country's top league. These clubs included Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba, Racing Club de Avellaneda, Newell's Old Boys, and Club Atlético Huracán.
Leandro Grimi announced that he was retiring from professional football on February 18, 2022. He was 37 years old at the time.
