How the Band Started
The band started with Tom Wilson. He used the name LeE HARVeY OsMOND. Other musicians, Michael Timmins and Josh Finlayson, helped him. They made their first album, A Quiet Evil, in 2009. It was released by Latent Recordings. Some other singers, Margo Timmins, Andy Maize, and Suzie Vinnick, also sang on the album.
Playing Live Shows
When the band plays live shows, Tom Wilson sings and plays guitar. Aaron Goldstein plays guitar and pedal steel. Cam Malcolm plays bass guitar. Brent Titcomb plays percussion and sings. Ray Farrugia plays the drums.
Album Releases and Awards
Their first album, A Quiet Evil, was considered for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize. This award celebrates the best Canadian albums.
Their second album, The Folk Sinner, came out in 2013. It was also considered for the 2013 Polaris Music Prize. The Folk Sinner was nominated for a Juno Award in 2014. The Juno Awards are like the Grammys for Canadian music. It was nominated for the best Roots & Traditional Album by a Group.
In 2015, they released their third album, Beautiful Scars. Many songs on this album were written with other musicians. It was also longlisted for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize.
The band's fourth album, Mohawk, was released in 2019. It was longlisted for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize. Mohawk won a Juno Award in 2020. It won for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year.
