Lee Nailon (born February 22, 1975) is an American professional basketball player. He played for six seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was named the most valuable player (MVP) in the Israeli Basketball Premier League in 2007. In 2011, he was the top scorer in that same league.
Lee Nailon had a great college basketball career at Texas Christian University. He was even named an All-American. In 2022, Lee Nailon became the head basketball coach for Carbondale Community High School in Carbondale, Illinois.

High School Basketball Success
Lee Nailon went to South Bend Clay High School. There, he played alongside Jaraan Cornell, who later played for Purdue. Together, they led their team, the Colonials, to win the 1994 Indiana State Championship title. They scored a combined 46 points in that big game.
College Basketball Journey
Nailon started his college basketball journey at Southeastern CC in Iowa for one year. Then, he moved to Butler County CC in Kansas for his second year. He finished his college career by playing his last two years (1997–1999) at Texas Christian University (TCU).
At TCU, he was an amazing player. He averaged 23.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. He earned "first-team WAC All-Conference" honors in both seasons he played there. This means he was recognized as one of the best players in his college league.
Professional Basketball Career
Lee Nailon was chosen in the 1999 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets. He was the 43rd player picked overall in the second round. Being drafted means a professional team selects a player to join their league.
Playing in the NBA
Nailon played for several teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played for the Charlotte Hornets (from 2000 to 2002). He also played for the New York Knicks (2002–03), Atlanta Hawks (2003–04), Orlando Magic (2003–04), and Cleveland Cavaliers (2003–04). Later, he returned to the Hornets when they became the New Orleans Hornets (2004–05). His last NBA team was the Philadelphia 76ers (2005–06).

International Play and Awards
After his time in the NBA, Lee Nailon played basketball around the world. He played for Adecco Milano in Italy (1999-00). He also played for Bnei HaSharon in Israel (2006–07 and 2010–11). Other teams include Lokomotiv Novosibirsk in Russia (2007–08) and Al-Riyadi in Lebanon. He also played in Puerto Rico for Leones de Ponce (2009) and Piratas de Quebradillas (2010).
In the 2006–07 season, Nailon led Bnei HaSharon to the Israeli Cup final. His team surprised everyone by beating the champions, Maccabi Tel Aviv, in the semifinal. He was named the Israeli Basketball Premier League MVP in 2007, which means he was the most valuable player in the entire league!
He rejoined Bnei HaSharon in 2010. In 2011, he was the top scorer in the Israel Basketball Premier League. This means he scored more points than any other player that season. In 2018, Nailon was drafted by the Ghost Ballers in the BIG3 league in the United States.
