Legends of the Hidden Temple was an exciting American action-adventure game show that aired on Nickelodeon. It ran from September 11, 1993, to 1995. The show was all about a mysterious temple filled with hidden treasures. These treasures were guarded by "Mayan temple guards."
The show was hosted by Kirk Fogg. A talking Olmec Head, voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, knew all the secrets of the temple's treasures. Six teams of two children (one boy and one girl) competed in the game. Their goal was to find and retrieve a special historical artifact hidden inside the temple. To do this, they had to complete physical challenges and answer questions about history, mythology, and geography.
The show was filmed at Nickelodeon Studios inside Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. In 1995, Legends of the Hidden Temple won a CableACE award for Best Game Show. Many people loved the show. In a 2007 poll, ten percent of people said it was their favorite "old school" Nickelodeon show.
