Lego Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood is a fun computer-animated comedy film from 2016. It's the 26th movie in the direct-to-video Scooby-Doo series. This film is special because it's the first one that mixes the classic Scooby-Doo gang with the awesome world of Lego bricks! It came out on DVD, Blu-ray, and digitally on May 10, 2016. This movie also features Kate Micucci as the voice of Velma Dinkley for the first time in a Scooby-Doo film outside of TV shows.

A Hollywood Mystery for Scooby-Doo!

Winning a Trip to Tinseltown

The movie starts with Shaggy and Scooby solving a mystery at a lighthouse. Shaggy complains that Fred, Daphne, and Velma always use them as monster bait. He and Scooby decide they won't eat Scooby Snacks anymore. After solving the mystery, the gang goes to a malt shop. Shaggy and Scooby win a hamburger eating contest there. Their prize is a trip for the whole gang to Hollywood!

Spooky Studios and a Headless Horseman

Once in Hollywood, the gang visits Brickton Studios. This is an old horror film studio that is about to close down. Junior, a studio employee who loves horror movies, welcomes them. He offers to give them a tour. Atticus Fink, a developer who wants to buy and tear down the studio, joins the tour. During the tour, they drive through a dark storage area. Fink leaves after this. Suddenly, a Headless Horseman appears and chases the gang!

The Ghost of Boris Karnak?

After escaping, the gang talks to the studio manager, Chet Brickton. Brickton tells them that all the monsters used to be played by an actor named Boris Karnak. Boris died years ago. Brickton thinks Boris's ghost might be haunting the studios. He believes the ghost is using the costumes of monsters Boris played. Besides the Headless Horseman, people have also seen a mummy and a zombie. Because of these hauntings, Brickton has to sell the studio to Fink to avoid going bankrupt. The gang offers to help Brickton solve the mystery.

Lights, Camera, Monsters!

First, the gang goes to the set of a romantic comedy film. This is a movie the studio is currently making, which Junior doesn't like. Suddenly, the Headless Horseman attacks and ruins the set! This makes Brickton very sad. The gang offers to help him finish the movie. Brickton makes Fred the director and casts Shaggy in the main role. He then casts TV talk show host Drella Diabolique as the female lead. Daphne is not happy about this. After a long time filming, a mummy attacks and destroys the set again.

More Clues and Double Trouble

Later, Fred and Velma go to look for clues. Meanwhile, Drella teaches Daphne how to be a movie star. Fred finds his film footage is safe, so he decides to keep filming his movie. While shooting a big scene with a plane, both the Headless Horseman and the zombie appear! Scooby has a wild ride on the plane. After the monsters disappear, Brickton sadly signs the studio over to Fink. Junior is very upset. Velma points out that the Headless Horseman and the zombie appeared at the same time. This means the ghost of Boris Karnak can't be in two places at once! The gang decides to capture the monsters and solve the mystery.

Unmasking the Villains and Saving the Studio

The gang goes back to the studio. With Drella's help and Fred's clever trap, they catch the zombie and the Headless Horseman. The Headless Horseman is revealed to be Fink! He used the costume to get the studio cheaply. Daphne tells Fink that his fraud breaks his contract, making it worthless. The zombie is revealed to be Junior, who was also the mummy! Junior tells them he is actually Boris Karnak Jr. He wanted to continue his father's legacy. Brickton tells the police to take Fink away. He lets Junior go free, but says the studio still has to close without a new movie.

Then, they realize something amazing! The security cameras recorded the gang being chased by the monsters. They decide to make a found footage movie using this footage. With the studio saved, the movie ends with the gang at the premiere of "Security Cam Monsters: The Adventure Begins." And yes, Scooby and Shaggy decide to eat Scooby Snacks again!
