Lehigh's Past

Lehigh used to be a hamlet within a larger area called the Municipal District (MD) of Badlands No. 7. A Municipal District is a type of local government area in Alberta, often covering rural lands. On January 1, 1998, something big happened: the Municipal District of Badlands No. 7 joined together with the former City of Drumheller. This process is called an amalgamation. After this, Lehigh became a community within the new, larger Town of Drumheller.
