Lenville is a small, unincorporated community located in Latah County, in the U.S. state of Idaho. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.

History

Lenville had a post office that opened in 1890. A post office was a very important place back then for sending and receiving mail. The person in charge of the post office was called the postmaster. The first postmaster in Lenville was a man named Leonard Nichols. People often called him "Len" for short. He was the one who gave the community its name, Lenville. The post office stayed open for about 11 years, closing down in 1901.
