Early Life and Music Beginnings
Leo Moran grew up in Tuam, a town in County Galway. He went to University College Galway where he studied French and Sociology. After his university studies, he also trained to become a secondary school teacher.
While at university, Leo met many important people in the local music scene. These connections helped him start his musical journey. He even played in a local reggae band called Too Much For The White Man.
Forming The Saw Doctors
Leo Moran's biggest musical adventure began when he teamed up with Davy Carton from the band Blaze X. Together, they formed The Saw Doctors. This band quickly became famous for their energetic folk-rock music and catchy songs. Leo plays the guitar and sings, helping to create the band's unique sound.
Other Musical Projects
Even with The Saw Doctors, Leo Moran has explored other music projects. In June 2013, he started a new country rock band called 'The Cabin Collective'. This shows his love for different styles of music.
In late 2013 and early 2014, The Saw Doctors took a break from touring. During this time, Leo toured with another musician, Anthony Thistlethwaite. They performed together under the name Leo & Anto.
