Leonardo Moreira: A Football Journey
Leonardo Moreira started his football journey in Brazil. He later moved to Japan to play football. He played for several different clubs during his career.
Playing Career in Japan
Moreira joined Japan Soccer College in 2005. He played there for two years. After that, he moved to Sagan Tosu in 2007. He played 54 games for them and scored 9 goals.
In 2009, he briefly played for Tokyo Verdy. Later that year, he joined Tochigi SC. He then moved to Giravanz Kitakyushu in 2010. He played 71 games and scored 10 goals for them.
Moreira returned to Japan Soccer College in 2013. He had a great season, scoring 23 goals in 14 games. He then played for Blaublitz Akita from 2014 to 2015. He also played for ReinMeer Aomori and FC Maruyasu Okazaki.
Becoming a Japanese Citizen
On July 17, 2015, Leonardo Moreira became a Japanese citizen. This meant he could play as a Japanese player. His original name was Leonardo Augusto Vieira Moreira.
Life After Playing
In 2020, Moreira left FC Maruyasu Okazaki after playing there for four years. In 2023, he officially announced that he was retiring from playing professional football.
After retiring as a player, Leonardo Moreira started a new role. On January 4, 2024, he became an interpretation coach for FC Machida Zelvia. In this role, he helps players and coaches communicate, especially those who speak different languages.
