Let's Pretend was a fun children's television series from the 1980s. It was made for younger kids, like preschoolers, in the United Kingdom. The show was shown on the ITV network. It first aired on Tuesdays at 12:10 PM, then later on Mondays. It took the place of another popular show called Pipkins, which ended in 1981. Each episode was 15 minutes long. Many of the same people who worked on Pipkins also worked on Let's Pretend. This included puppeteer Nigel Plaskitt and producer Michael Jeans.

The very first episode of Let's Pretend was called "The Story Of The Broken Puppet". It was shown on Tuesday, January 5, 1982. Central Television produced this first episode. The show was broadcast every week until 1988. Years later, Big Centre TV re-aired the programme, so new audiences could enjoy it.

What Did the Opening Titles Look Like?

The show had interesting opening titles. At first, they showed different items moving along a conveyor belt. These items would then go into the mouth of a big plastic whale. Later, the opening titles changed to show a puppet caterpillar moving across the screen.
