Lewis Schaffer's Comedy Career

Long-Running Comedy Shows

Lewis Schaffer had a comedy show called "Free until Famous." It ran for many years, from October 2008 to April 2014. The show was performed in different places in London, like Soho and Mayfair. It was a very long-running show, with over 400 performances! People say it might have been the longest solo stand-up show in London, or even all of Britain.

He also performed his show "Lewis Schaffer: American in London" every Sunday. This show was at the Leicester Square Theatre in London. He performed it for more than three years, until June 2014. This made it the longest solo comedy show at that theatre.

Radio Broadcasting

Since 2009, Lewis has hosted a radio show called "Nunhead American Radio with Lewis Schaffer." It's on Resonance 104.4FM in London. The show is broadcast live every Monday evening at 6:30 PM GMT. Famous comedians like Russell Howard, Richard Herring, and Stewart Lee have been guests on his show.

Comedy Awards and Recognition

In 2009, Lewis Schaffer won an award called the Malcolm Hardee Cunning Stunt Award. He won it at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which is a big arts festival. He got the award for a clever publicity stunt. He convinced a magazine called The List that he was going to sponsor the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. He even said he bought the rights for £99 and that his mother would be a judge!

Later, in 2017, he won another award. This was the Wee Review Fringe Experience Award. He won it for his show "Unopened Letters From My Mother." In this show, he opened and read letters his mother had sent him after he moved to London.
