Li'l Elvis and the Truckstoppers is a cool animated TV show from Australia. It was a really big project for the Australian Children's Television Foundation (ACTF) because it was their first major animated series made with international partners. These partners included France 2 and France Animation from France, and Ravensburger from Germany.
The show tells the story of a group of kids and their exciting adventures in the outback of Australia.
The main character is Li'l Elvis, a ten-year-old boy who loves music. He's also really good at getting into trouble! All he wants is to find out who his real parents are and just be a normal kid. The show hints that he might be the child of Elvis Presley because he was found in a guitar case, thrown from a gold Cadillac.
Li'l Elvis is raised by his foster parents, Grace and Len, who run a truck stop. They are huge fans of Elvis Presley. Since Li'l Elvis is very talented at singing and playing the guitar, his foster mom is sure he's Elvis Presley's son.
Li'l Elvis and his two best friends, Lionel and Janet, form a band called "The Truckstoppers." Their adventures happen in the outback town of Little Memphis, which used to be called Wanapoo. Lionel is an Indigenous Australian boy who plays the didgeridoo and often says "deadly!" Janet is an Asian Australian girl who wears a beret and plays the drums while standing up.
The Truckstoppers' main enemy is a businessman named W.C. Moore. He wants to become their manager so he can make money from them and turn Little Memphis into a big tourist spot. He's also obsessed with finding a mysterious mineral called Berkonium. W.C. Moore has a special Berkonium marble that he uses to win against kids in marble games, which is a popular game in town. He also often zaps his unlucky driver, Duncan, with electricity.
