Li Ruihuan (born September 17, 1934) is a Chinese retired politician. He was a very important leader in China. From 1989 to 2002, Li was part of the Politburo Standing Committee. This group is China's top decision-making body. He also served as the Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from 1993 to 2003. Before that, he was the main leader of the city of Tianjin.

Early Life and Career
Li Ruihuan was born in September 1934 into a farming family in Baodi, Tianjin. He started his career as a carpenter. From 1951 to 1965, he worked as a construction worker in Beijing. While working, he also studied at an architecture engineering institute and earned a college certificate.
The "Young Lu Ban"
Li was known for inventing a "simplified calculation method." This new method made carpentry work easier and more modern. Because of his skills, people called him "young Lu Ban." Lu Ban was a famous master carpenter from ancient China. Li's talent helped him move up in the construction world and later in politics in Tianjin.
Leadership in Tianjin
Li Ruihuan became the Mayor of Tianjin in 1982. During his time as mayor, he worked hard to improve the city. He focused on making urban housing better and improving public transportation.
Connecting with Citizens
Li became very popular with the people of Tianjin. He had special radio and television shows where residents could call in. He would answer their questions directly and help solve their problems. This made him a beloved leader.
National Leadership and Retirement
In 1989, Li Ruihuan joined the Politburo Standing Committee. This is one of the most powerful groups in China. He then became the Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in 1993.
Role of the CPPCC Chairman
The CPPCC Chairman's job is mainly to give advice and help solve disagreements. Li's work focused on bringing different parts of society together. He also helped gather ideas for China's central government. This role is seen as very important and respected.
Li Ruihuan retired in 2003 when he was 68 years old. He made a public appearance at the 20th Party Congress in October 2022.
