Licauquén River facts for kids
The Licauquén River is a short river, sometimes called a stream, located in Chile. It flows south of the city of Lebu and west of Cañete. This small river starts in the tree-covered hills of the Arauco Province and makes its way to the Pacific Ocean.
About the Licauquén River
The Licauquén River is not very long, but it plays a part in the local geography. It is often called a riachuelo, which is a Spanish word for a very small river or stream. It begins its journey in the eastern parts of the Arauco Province, an area known for its forests and hills.
Where it Flows
As the Licauquén River starts its flow, it is joined by another small stream called Pilmaiquén. This joining happens in the river's upper parts, closer to where it begins. From there, the Licauquén River travels a few kilometers towards the southwest.
Its Journey to the Ocean
The river's path eventually leads it to the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It ends its journey at the coast around 37 degrees 50 minutes South latitude, near a place known as Punta Molguilla (which means Molguilla Point). This area is a beautiful part of the Chilean coastline.
