Lidia Falcón O'Neill was born on December 13, 1935. She is a Spanish politician and a writer. She studied law, dramatic arts, and journalism, and also earned a PhD in philosophy. Lidia Falcón is well-known for her strong support of feminism in Spain. She was especially active during the time when Spain was changing from a dictatorship to a democracy.
She was a member of a political group called the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSUC). During the time when Spain was ruled by a dictator, she faced many challenges and was even put in prison because of her political beliefs. In 1976, she started the Feminist Collective of Barcelona. She also launched a feminist magazine called Vindicación Feminista and a publishing company. In 1977, she founded the Revolutionary Feminist Organization, which later became the Feminist Party of Spain. Since 1979, she has been in charge of the magazine Poder y libertad.

Lidia Falcón O'Neill was born in Madrid, Spain, on December 13, 1935. Her father, César Falcón, was from Peru, and her mother, Enriqueta O'Neill, was Spanish. Both of her parents were writers and journalists. Her parents met when her mother worked in her father's theater. Lidia's mother raised her by herself.
Lidia came from a family of writers. Her grandmother, Regina de Lamo, and her aunt, Carlota O'Neill, were also writers. Because of this, it was not surprising when Lidia wrote her first play at just 12 years old.
During the time of the dictatorship in Spain, Lidia Falcón was put in prison because of her political ideas. She continued to fight for what she believed in.
