Lignite, California facts for kids
Lignite was once a small community in Amador County, California. It was located about 0.5 miles (0.8 km) southeast of a place called Carbondale.
This former settlement was situated along the tracks of the Southern Pacific Railroad. Many small towns and settlements in California grew up around railroad lines, which were important for moving people and goods.
