Liguori is a small, quiet place in Jefferson County, Missouri, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town would. Instead, it's part of the larger county area.

Liguori is located not too far from the big city of St. Louis. It's about 10 miles south of a town called Arnold, right along U.S. Route 67. This makes it part of the bigger St. Louis metropolitan area, which includes the main city and all the towns and communities around it.

How Did Liguori Get Its Name?

Liguori was named after a very important person: Saint Alphonsus Liguori. He was a saint who lived a long time ago and founded a special group of religious people called the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. This group is often known as the Redemptorists.

Today, Liguori is still home to communities of both Redemptorists and Redemptoristine nuns. These are groups of men and women who dedicate their lives to religious service, following the teachings and traditions of Saint Alphonsus Liguori. Their presence is a big part of the community's history and identity.
