Liis Lemsalu is a talented singer from Estonia. She was born on October 20, 1992, in Pärnu. Liis became famous after winning a big TV show in Estonia. She is known for her pop and soul music.

Becoming a Star: Eesti otsib superstaari

Liis Lemsalu became well-known in 2011. This happened when she won the fourth season of Eesti otsib superstaari. This show is like the Estonian version of the famous Idol TV series.

After winning, Liis went on a tour with other singers from the show. She also released her first song, "Kõnnime seda teed," with Artjom Savitski. He was the runner-up on the show. Soon after, Liis signed a contract with Universal Music Group, a big music company.

First Album and Eurovision Dreams

After her first successful songs like "Shining Star," Liis Lemsalu released her first album. It was simply called Liis Lemsalu.

Liis also tried to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest. This is a huge music competition where countries compete. Estonia chooses its song through a national contest called Eesti Laul.

  • In 2012, her song "Made Up My Mind" made it to the final of Eesti Laul 2012. She finished in 5th place.
  • A year later, in Eesti Laul 2013, she tried again with "Uhuu." However, she did not make it to the final that year.
  • She returned to Eesti Laul 2015 with Egert Milder and their song "Hold On." They also did not qualify for the final.

After these experiences, Liis released her first EP (which is like a mini-album) called RULES. This EP featured songs mostly in English, including "Breaking the Rules."

Big Hits and Second Album

After 2015, Liis Lemsalu became even more popular. Her song "Sinu Ees" (which means "In Front Of You") was released in May 2016. This song became a massive hit! It stayed at the top of Radio Elmar's charts for 14 weeks. Because of its popularity, it was named "Song of the Year" by Radio Elmar.

In late 2016, Liis was announced as a participant in Eesti Laul 2017. She sang the song "Keep Running." She made it to the final and finished in 7th place. Liis also made an Estonian version of this song called "Aeg on Käes."

Later, she released her second album, "+1." This album included all her popular songs from 2016 and 2017. It also had five new songs. Many of these songs became big hits on the radio.

Since her "+1" album, Liis has released several new songs. These include "Tähed Me Jalge All," "Kehakeel," and "Halb või hea." In 2020, she released "Doomino" with singer Stefan. In 2021, Liis signed with Warner Music, another major music company. She then released the song "Magusvalus."
