Ott Lepland is an Estonian singer, born on May 17, 1987. He became famous in 2009 after winning the third season of Eesti otsib superstaari, which is like the Estonian version of Pop Idol. In 2012, Ott represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. His song was called "Kuula", and it earned him a great 6th place in the final competition.

Ott Lepland's Early Life and Career
Ott Lepland has been singing since he was a young child. He even released four albums with children's songs in 1995 and 1996. Currently, Ott is studying pop and jazz singing at Georg Ots' Tallinn Music School. He also learned to play the piano for ten years.
Ott has performed in several plays and musicals. A notable role was playing Troy Bolton in the Estonian version of the musical High School Musical. This was at the Estonian State Puppet & Youth Theatre.
Winning Eesti otsib superstaari
In 2010, after winning the Estonian Pop Idol show, Ott Lepland released his first album. It was called "Ott Lepland" and had 12 songs. Some popular songs from this album include "Otsides ma pean su jälle leidma" and "Süte peal sulanud jää".
In December 2010, a fan book about Ott was published. Its title was "Lubage mul olla. Ott Lepland." (Let me be. Ott Lepland). The subtitle was "8 kuud superstaarina" (8 months as a superstar).
Laulupealinn TV Show
In 2011, Ott took part in another TV3 show called Laulupealinn (Capital of songs/singing). In this show, Ott represented the Estonian town of Kärdla. Each week, he performed with different partners from Kärdla or Hiiu County. These partners included his grandmother, his nephew, and a local mixed choir. Ott won the show, and because of his victory, Kärdla earned the title of Singing Capital of Estonia.
