Lillhärdal Church
The Lillhärdal Church (Lillhärdals kyrka) is a very old wooden church. It was first built way back in 1407. The church is part of the Svegsbygden parish. This parish belongs to the Diocese of Härnösand.
Church History
The church was made bigger in 1770 and 1771. It used to have fancy decorations called rococo style. These included the altarpiece and pulpit from 1774. A wooden tower was added to the church in 1805.
Between 1831 and 1832, an artist named Göran Sundin painted parts of the church. He added gold details and painted drapes behind the pulpit. The church was fixed up in 1880. A much bigger repair project happened in 1979.
