Lilli Promet (born February 16, 1922 – died February 16, 2007) was an important writer from Estonia. She wrote many books and stories that people enjoyed reading.

Her Life Story

Lilli Promet was born in a town called Petseri. Her father, Aleksander Promet, was a famous Estonian painter.

Lilli went to Tallinn 18th Elementary School. After that, in 1935, she joined the State Industrial Art School. She finished her studies there in the spring of 1940.

Soon after, she started working at a newspaper called Noorte Hääl. When World War II began, Lilli and her family had to leave their home. They moved to Tatarstan for safety.

In the summer of 1943, Lilli Promet worked for an Estonian language radio station. This was in Leningrad, a city that was surrounded and cut off during the war. From 1944 to 1951, she worked as a journalist in Tallinn.

Lilli Promet passed away in Tallinn on her 85th birthday. She is buried at the Metsakalmistu cemetery in Tallinn.

She was married to another writer, Ralf Parve. Their son, Ralf R. Parve, also became a journalist and a politician.
