Lillian Nakate Segujja (born 11 August 1978), often called Lillian Nakate, is a Ugandan civil engineer and politician. She serves as a Member of Parliament for the Luweero District Women's Constituency. She was elected to the 10th Parliament, serving from 2016 to 2021.

Learning and Early Life
Lillian Nakate was born on 11 August 1978 in Wobulenzi, which is in the Luweero District of Uganda. Her parents were Francis Segujja and Annet Segujja. She started her schooling at Wobulenzi Parents' School.
For her secondary education, she attended several schools. These included Saint John's Secondary School in Nandere and Mulusa Academy Secondary School in Wobulenzi. She finished her O-Level exams at Luteete Secondary School in Bamunanika. Later, she returned to Mulusa Academy for her A-Level studies.
University Studies and Qualifications
In 2000, Lillian Nakate earned a Diploma in Architectural Draftsmanship from Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo. This school later became part of Kyambogo University. A draftsperson creates detailed technical drawings, often for buildings.
She then went to Makerere University, one of Uganda's oldest universities. In 2007, she received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Civil Engineering. Civil engineering involves designing and building things like roads, bridges, and buildings. She continued her studies at the same university, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Civil Engineering in 2011.
Lillian also has other important certificates. In 2008, she got a Certificate in Project Planning and Management from Makerere University. This helped her learn how to plan and manage big projects. In 2013, she received a Certificate in Financial and Business Management of Road Construction. This certificate, from Multitech Business School in Kampala, taught her about managing money for road building.
Professional Experience
Lillian Nakate started her career in 2000. Her first job was at Tectura International Planners, Architects and Project Managers in Kampala. She worked there for one year as a draftsman and site clerk. A site clerk helps manage paperwork and activities at a construction site.
From 2001 to 2006, she worked for the Luweero District Local Government. She was an Assistant Engineering Officer, helping with engineering tasks in the district. In 2007, she became the Town Engineer for Wobulenzi Town Council. She held this role for four years. At the same time, she also served as the Acting District Engineer for Luweero District.
Working in the Private Sector
In 2011, Lillian Nakate moved to the private sector. She became the Resident Engineer for Bestway General Contractors. This is an international construction company. In 2012, she joined Parrot 50 Uganda Limited. She was the Director in charge of engineering until 2016. During this period, she also worked as a Consultant Civil Engineer at UB Consulting Engineers Limited. This company provides engineering advice.
Political Journey
In 2016, Lillian Nakate decided to enter politics. She ran for the Luweero District Women's Constituency. She was a candidate for the National Resistance Movement political party. She won the election, beating Brenda Nabukenya from the Democratic Party (Uganda).
As a Member of Parliament in the 10th Parliament, Lillian Nakate has important roles. She is a member of the parliamentary committee on science and technology. She is also the deputy chairperson of the parliamentary committee on physical infrastructure. This committee deals with things like roads, bridges, and other public works.
Family Life
Lillian Nakate is married and has three children. This includes a set of twins who were born around 2007. Her third child was born one year later.
