The Story of Limedale
Limedale began in the year 1864. It got its name from the many lime quarries in the area. A lime quarry is a place where people dig up limestone.
In 1873, a post office opened in Limedale. This was a place where people could send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for many years. It finally closed down in 1909.
